Tuesday Night Charleston Classes

Suburban Swing is proud to announce Charleston classes at Bonson Hall in Pitt Meadows!

A 4-week series. Every Tuesday night October 4 - 25th 2022

The cost is $80  per person.

This includes the 630pm to 730 pm Charleston classes ($15 per class value), the 730 to 815 drop-in beginner swing dance class ($10 per night value), and your dance later that night.   Great discount for 4 hours of learning and dancing every Tuesday night!

Option to take only the workshops for $60 per person. (does not include the rest of the evening)

The class starts from 630pm to 730 pm

The Charleston comes from the 1920s and is the father of the Lindy Hop and looks really cool. This bouncy dance can be mixed into your 6 and 8 count dancing and is a lot easier to do at fast speed. You will be learning the basics and a few fun moves in this class. 

Charleston The Charleston was super popular in the 1920s and then evolved into the Lindy hop. It’s high energy and full of flashy movements that work really well at high speed! Get ready to hop to it and feel that trad jazz bounce!  Three styles available: face to face (1920s), side to side (1930’s), or tandem.

30s Charleston -Kick the ball -Switches -Alternate Switches -Hacksaw switches -Tandem -Chase -Airplanes -Hacksaws in Tandem -Push out right -Push out left -Split jump -20s charleston -Bunny hop -Windmills -Big kicks -Hacksaws in 20s
